Macclesfield Senior Colts 0 – 10 Crewe and Nantwich Senior Colts

13th October 2013

Macclesfield Senior Colts were taught a lesson in how to manage a game in in wet conditions by Crewe and Nantwich Senior Colts. Despite being in possession for long periods of the game, and being held up over the line three times, Macc couldn’t break through the opposition’s defence. The set piece functioned well, but decision making in open play along with a high penalty count frustrated the Colts efforts to capitalise on any territory gained. Sam Bancroft had a good game in defence, Ben Hadfield was unlucky with his disallowed try, and George Hodkinson may have converted a chance if the ball had not been like a bar of soap.

Some work for the Colts to do at training during the week, before next Sunday’s fixture.
