WaaHoo Wilkey! New Commercial Director

New Commercial Director for the Rugby Club

I am delighted to announce that, long serving Club Member, David Wilkinson (Wilkey), has agreed to take on the role of Commercial Director for Macclesfield Rugby Club. The primary role is part of the Club’s long term Development Plan to foster partnerships within the local and regional business community and in doing so, to aid in the funding of our future plans.

This appointment is a non – executive position and David will be directly responsible to the Executive Committee

Besides his rugby pedigree at Macclesfield, being one of the small group of members to have played over 500 games, David has a long and in depth background in leisure advertising and marketing, having worked extensively with some of the UK’s leading leisure companies throughout his career. David has set out two distinct aims in this new role;

  • To build the awareness of the Macclesfield Rugby Club brand
  • To attract new income streams to the Club through sponsorship, events and advertising opportunities.

 If you have any suggestions, in terms of companies where you might have a connection or an insight, please contact David at David@maccrugby.co.uk.

I`d like to take this opportunity to wish Wilkey all the best on his new appointment and would ask that all club members support him in his ambitions and goals.

Pete Harper, Chairman
