Rugby Notes from ‘Clubman’

A disappointing result for Macclesfield on a bitterly cold Priory Park afternoon when Champions elect – Sale FC – came to town and completed their own ‘double’ over the Blues with a convincing 37-0 victory that put them back on top of Two North following Sedgley Park’s 31-24 victory at Wharfedale on Friday evening which temporarily put them in first place.  It is the first time for a while that Macc have been ‘nilled’ but credit to the Sale defence which is by far the meanest at this level for keeping it that way. Bob Jenner

On 18th April I fly out to Kathmandu to attempt the trek up to Everest Base Camp (yes I know at 66 I should know better but there you have it).

I’m doing this as part of any sponsored charity event BUT I do know how lucky I am to even contemplate it so I’m dedicating my luck to the East Cheshire Hospice and will make a significant donation on my return.

A number of family/friends have said they would like to contribute so I have widened the donation process to a JustGiving page. Now I’m trying to get this message out to as many friends/family as I can.

I’m now just two weeks away from a great adventure that I am dedicating to East Cheshire Hospice. Please consider the following…

You can help Bob Jenner raise money for this great cause by donating directly to their fundraising page –

JustGiving sends your donation straight to East Cheshire Hospice and automatically reclaims Gift Aid if you are a UK taxpayer, so your donation is worth even more.

Thank you for your support!

Ross High RFC

Once again the touring squad from Ross High RFC will be visiting us. After travelling down from Trenant near Edinburgh, they will be with us tonight – 6th April. This is always a great fun event. Three rugby matches are planned starting a 6.00pm – U13s, U15s and U17s.

The bar will be open throughout and the DJ kicks off after the rugby. This will be another great night and everyone is welcome to join in the fun.

Dogs

All spectators are welcome to bring their dogs along to any of our home matches. Responsible dog owners only please.

Dogs MUST be kept on a lead at all times

The Club Working Party

After a short break for Easter, the Working Party is back in action on Sunday 8th April. If you can spare a couple of hours, please grab a brush or roller and come and join the happy crew.

Special thanks go to Cheeky Walker and Barry the Pie who have given up their time during the interim to carry on with the painting. Their efforts mean that we could be moving into the trophy room very soon!

Don’t leave it for others to do, it’s your club.

See you all there at 1.30pm!

Easter eggs for the kids

Some 1st team players took the time to visit the poorly children at the hospital on Good Friday. They took plenty of Easter eggs with them which always puts smiles on faces.
