The threat of a second postponement in as many weeks turned out to be premature as Blues put on another dominant performance at Priory Park. Another six tries and a fifteenth bonus point of the season means we are now just two points behind second place in National One which is a remarkable effort!

It went down right to the wire, but ultimately Blues came up second best in a tense and nervous affair against Tynedale. Though not pretty at times, it was a match very few in attendance could look away from as it was on a knife-edge for most of the match.

Though the conditions were poles apart from those encountered at Barking, the style of rugby and end product was almost identical.

What a performance and what a result for Blues away in East London against Barking!

Let me start by first saying how good it was to see President Alan Johnson back at Priory Park on Saturday. Alan has been a key part of the club for many years and it is fantastic to see him back on the road to recovery after a difficult few months.

Another nail biter at Priory Park but at the end of the game it has to be said that Jersey – possibly the best side I have seen visiting Macclesfield so far this season – just about deserved the spoils but the home side can consider themselves unlucky not to come away with anything from a wind affected game in which they gave their all and but for some stoic Jersey defence they surely must have scored more points.

They came, they saw and they conquered and as a result Ealing Trailfinders excellent unbeaten home record was blown away with a bonus point Blues victory on their first ever visit to Valley Way to get their campaign well and truly back on course after last weekend’s revival against Blackheath and as the half way stage of the season approaches it is Jersey who will have some trepidation as they make a first ever visit to Priory Park this Saturday [...]

After five lean weekends it was a morale boosting and committed display at Priory Park which saw off the Blackheath challenge and it will put the squad in good spirits ready for the trip to table topping Ealing Trailfinders next weekend

It was a quiet bus tonight on the return journey from Damson Park, Solihull following a rare Sunday outing to play bottom club Birmingham & Solihull as the Blues endeavoured to return to winning ways after bleak October results which has seen them drop to mid table with just the one victory at Cambridge to show for the month.
