With the start of National League 2 North just weeks away, it’s about time Macclesfield Rugby caught up with Head Coach, Giles Heagerty, to find out how preparations are going. Naturally at this time of year the supporters’ thoughts turn to who’s leaving Priory Park and who’s coming in to replace them.
BOSLEY WOOD TREATMENT I`m sure that, like me, everyone involved at Macclesfield Rugby Club was shocked and saddened by the tragic events which unfolded in Bosley on Friday and over the weekend. Bosley Wood Treatment has had close links with MRUFC for many, many years, and we offer our thoughts and sympathies to all those affected by the incident. As well as offering our thoughts to those affected by the incident, I`m sure many of you would like to offer support […]
Macclesfield recently announced the signings of two familiar faces to Priory Parl. Prop Marshall Gadd was on loan at The Blues from Rotherham last season and has made the move permanent in a player/coach role with Macclesfield. The second of the two signings in back row forward Ryan Parkinson. ‘Parky’ tasted great success in his last stint at the Blues before moving to Sedgley Tigers. Parkinson finished leading try scorer in National 2 North when the Blues were promoted in […]

We are delighted to announce that a critical element of the 2014 club strategy has been implemented with the appointment of Chris Jones as Director of Youth Rugby for Macclesfield RFU. Chris was selected from a rigorous interview process that included a number of high quality candidates and was overseen by the club chairman, the first team coach and Rob Davies (who had led the thinking on this part of the club strategy).
So now we’ve got the fixture list, Macclesfield Blues know exactly who they’ll be facing in this season’s National League 2 North competition. It’s good to see some old faces: teams against which we’ve had our battles in the past. It’s also good to see some new blood in the division too: teams like Sale FC and Huddersfield. No team should be underestimated in this league, however, whether they’re new to the division or not. Every game will be close, […]
