Macclesfield Rugby Club is delighted to be able to announce a new sponsorship deal. First team Macclesfield Blues will be sponsored by local firm Connolly Scaffolding for the next 2 years. Wayne Connolly started his scaffolding business in 2002, and has expanded the firm in the last 7 years to become one of the largest and most respected independent scaffolding companies in the North West of England. He started out in business in 1993 with a modest capital investment of just £7,000, and has managed to win six business awards, including Business Person of the Year. He’s built a flourishing company with an enviable reputation in the field. Connolly Scaffolding provides access solutions to a variety of customers ranging from private domestic individuals to corporate blue chip companies.
Commercial and General Manager, Bill Roberts, confirmed the details of the new deal and expressed his satisfaction that the Club has been able to build this working relationship with such a respected local company:
“We’ve been able to secure a new Club First Team sponsor! We’re delighted to announce that Macclesfield Blues’ new sponsor is Connolly Scaffolding, a local firm based in Stockport. Wayne Connolly is local businessman who lives in Macclesfield. He’s a Macclesfield Club member, and his two sons currently play at the Club in the Mini and Junior section. The new deal is for a two year sponsorship and Connolly Scaffolding will be the sponsor on the front of the first team shirt. Obviously we’ve still got a longstanding deal with Bluebell BMW, and that name will continue to appear on the sleeves, but Connolly Scaffolding will be the main Club sponsor.”
“It’s not the first time that Wayne and his company have sponsored the Club however: he’s actually helped to sponsor some of the events going on in the Mini/Junior section at the Club, and has also individually helped to raise funds to cover the costs of the Mini/Junior tours. He’s a very active Club member who’s been involved for some considerable time, and we’re thrilled that his company have agreed to continue their association with Macclesfield Rugby Club in this way.”
