Macclesfield Blues announce two new sponsorship deals

Macclesfield Rugby Club is delighted to bring further news of 2 new sponsorship deals that have been secured over the past couple of weeks. The companies, J C Steel Trading Ltd and the Cheshire Cheese Company have agreed to sponsor some of our ground perimeter advertising boards for the coming season. Both businesses are local, which further strengthens the strong links between Macclesfield Rugby Club and the surrounding community, and adds to our pedigree as a true family Club.

John Callander, the Managing Director of Poynton-based J C Steel Trading Ltd is a new recruit to the Club. J C Steel Trading is an independent steel trading company specialising in the sale and purchase of imported and UK-produced general steel products and the liquidation of slow-moving stocks, cancelled orders and rejected or defective stock. With over 25 years in the business, J C Steel Trading is one of the North West’s foremost independent steel traders.

Simon Spurrell is a senior partner at the recently-launched Cheshire Cheese Company. You may have already seen the company on television. It specialises in the production of speciality and unusual cheeses, like Irish whiskey with ginger mature cheddar and sticky toffee cheese. The tastes might not be to everyone’s liking, but obviously the company is pushing all the right buttons.  The Cheshire Cheese Company has already won numerous international awards and continues to go from strength to strength.

Simon is no stranger to Macclesfield Rugby Club, as he already sponsors the team through his other company ITG.Uk, an IT Support and Solutions Company. The Cheshire Cheese Company will also sponsor the pitch-side advertising boards around the ground for the rest of the season, and supply some of its delicious cheeses for both pre-match meals and hospitality packages.

Commercial and General Manager, Bill Roberts, confirmed the details of the two new deals and expressed his delight that the Club has been able to build these new working relationship with two such  respected local companies:

“It’s always good news for the Club to welcome on board new supporters and sponsors. We take this as a sign that local businesses are keen to commit to us, and therefore we must be doing things right both on the pitch and in the community. Macclesfield Rugby Club places great value on our bond with local businesses, and is always looking to strengthen that bond. We’d like to welcome John and, say thank you once again to Simon, for showing faith in us and our Club. We’re sure all our supporters will welcome the news. “

“Hopefully there’ll be further news to come in the coming weeks regarding sponsorship. We’re looking to complete a couple of significant sponsorship deals soon that we’re sure will please the supporters. Full details will of course be released as soon as any deal is completed.”
