End of year review – Macclesfield RUFC Under 7s

2012/13 has been a fantastic first competitive season for our young guns and they are a real credit to the Macclesfield Rugby Club. With 36 boys registered, we made the decision at the beginning of the year to focus on our boys development and allocated them all into 6 individual teams; Macclesfield U7 Lions, Tigers, Sharks, Chiefs, Wasps & Bears. This focused and targeted development has delivered real dividends. One particular highlight for me was the awesome display of each of our teams at the Cheshire Festival, and us all cheering each other on as we progressed to the finals.

This year’s Under 7s silverware will be on display at Priory Park on the 05th May, but if you can’t wait until then have a look at the picture below. The word impressive doesn’t really do it justice.

Overall I must say that the results and boys’ performances this year have exceeded our expectations and it’s been an extremely rewarding experience for everybody involved. This year has been a complete team effort and my sincere thanks go to all the boys, the parents, the Club and my fellow Coaches. Together we are one very strong unit!

I think we all now need a well-deserved break after such a long season, but I very much look forward to seeing the boys in action in 2013/14
