Blue Bell BMW Scores Coaching Session for Macclesfield RFC

Blue Bell BMW sponsored rugby team Macclesfield RFC has jumped at the chance to attend an exclusive coaching session with 2 members of the England coaching team.

The day took place at West Park RFC in Leeds, where England Backs Coach Andy Farrell and Forwards Coach Graham Rowntree worked with the representatives from Macclesfield RFC along with other local teams embarking on the innovative and exciting initiative.

Iain Taylor, Head Coach of the Senior Colts and Paul Gregory Coach of the Senior Colts joined the unique training experience to learn and develop their skills for the current season.

“ I am now looking forward to passing on some of the information gained during the afternoon to the next generation of players coming through the highly successful Macclesfield junior system. It is easy to see why these 2 coaches have reached the pinnacle of their profession with their depth of knowledge and delivery style making the whole experience something I will not forget for some time to come. Many thanks Blue Bell for the opportunity to experience this work shop ” said Iain of Macclesfield RFU during the session.

Following a welcome lunch the Macclesfield coaches had the opportunity to participate in practical coaching games and drills focusing on drift defence, scrum and offload. All the coaches then returned to the coach house for a hose down and refreshments before the question and answer section of the day.

Paul of Macclesfield RFU said, “The insight in to the game that we have gained in one single afternoon session from these 2 coaches will be invaluable to pass on to both the young players at MRUFC but also to other MRUFC coaches to ensure that the vibrant junior section continues to build on the excellent foundations and high standards it already has .To be able to question series winning Lions coaches was an experience few have had and I would like to thank Bluebell BMW for the opportunity   .”

This follows the Wilmslow dealership coming on board in 2010 as a major club sponsor of the First Team, the Mini and Junior Teams and renewing again for the 2013 season.
