Macclesfield spend another week at the top of the table following a 52 – 15 rout of Caldy at Priory Park on Saturday.
11 tries were scored on the day, the first of which went to Blues winger Matt King who went over just four minutes into the game following good work from the forwards.
Midway through the first half Elliot Brierley broke the line and danced around the full back to double the hosts’ lead, before Andrew Soutar got the hosts on the board. Ryan Parkinson scored next for the hosts’ when he was at the tail of a driving maul that powered over from 10 metres out to give Macclesfield a 19 -5 lead.
The visitors then struck back through Christian Jones who went over in the corner before Ed Stobart scored his first of the day for the Blues. Parkinson then scored his 15th try of the season just on the stroke of half time to make the scores 31 – 10 at oranges.
Two minutes into the second half the hosts were awarded a penalty try when Caldy collapsed a scrum on their own try line. Caldy crept back into the game with a try through Josiah Dickinson but that would be the last time they troubled the scorers.
The hosts scored two more tries through Stobart and Mike Finnemore and the final scores were 52 – 15.
