Macclesfield Rugby holds its end of season Players’ Dinner

On Thursday 14th May Macclesfield Rugby Club held its annual end of season Players’ Dinner at Priory Park. The evening proved to be a great success. The event was attended by over 100 players, guests, the board of directors and Club volunteers. We think it’s safe to say that the evening was very well received.

Each of Macclesfield Rugby’s teams – Seconds, Thirds, Fourths and Colts was asked to nominate two players for rewards: a Player’s Player of the Season, and the Most Improved Player of the Season. The awards for the Macclesfield Blues’ Player of the Season and First Team Player of the Season were, however, chosen by the Club Chairman, Pete Harper.

The awards were presented by Macclesfield’s MP, David Rutley. The list of winners on the night was as follows:

First Team Player of the Season 2014/15: Matt King

Macclesfield Seconds

Team Player of the Season 2014/15: Adam Greendale
Most improved Player of the Season 2014/15: Gareth Barnes

Macclesfield Thirds

Team Player of the Season 2014/15: Bryan Graham
Most improved Player of the Season 2014/15: Jake Atkinson

Macclesfield Fourths

Team Player of the Season 2014/15: Fergus Green
Most improved Player of the Season 2014/15: Sam Bancroft

Macclesfield Colts

Colts Player of the Season 2014/15: George Hodkinson
Colts Coach’s Player of the Season 2014/15: Alex Soltau
