We are pleased to announce that Hogan and Mitchell Physiotherapy have been appointed the new official Macclesfield Rugby Club physiotherapists after a series of talks detailing the services available and the level of expertise to be provided.

The services provided will be headed by Ross Mitchell on match days and weekday evening training clinics. Work has already started with pre-season screening and as Ross explains; “Working with the Blues is a fantastic opportunity to provide the club with a high level of cover to help reduce injury risk and keep players on the field to be successful. As a local business we hope to build a strong relationship with the club and its supporters. We are aware of the strong support the club gets from local people and businesses which is why we were thrilled to get involved ourselves as a local business”.

Ross is no stranger to working in rugby as he brings a wealth of experience with him to the Blues having worked with St Helens Rugby League Football Club and the Carnegie Challenge Cup winning Warrington Wolves Rugby League Football Club. He began his career as a physiotherapist after being treated for sport injuries playing rugby himself. Personal experience playing rugby provides an additional understanding when acting as a professional practicing physiotherapy in a tough sport he grew up with a passion for. As he explains “the challenges ahead will be tough, not least with the arrival of a second child in the next month but I am looking forward to doing our part to keep the Blues going from strength to strength.”

Hogan & Mitchell Physiotherapy was founded by Simon Hogan & Ross Mitchell in 2012. The clinic has been successfully providing private treatments for sports injuries and specific musculoskeletal pain problems. Simon & Ross have over 25 years experience in the field and regard themselves as the experts in the local area. So whether it is an acute sports injury or persistent everyday problem, and whether you are an elite athlete or average Joe, with the best diagnostic skills, hands on treatment and rehabilitation techniques, Simon & Ross will get you back on track. With their Running Clinic due to start within the next month they are keeping themselves busy but say they are raring to go!

The clinic is situated on Waters Green, Macclesfield and all enquiries are handled personally by Ross and Simon. They can be contacted on 01625 422825 or visit the website Blues members get a discount of 12.5% – £35 for an initial consultation and £30 for further treatment sessions (usually £40 and £35 respectively) on production of a current membership card.
