From The Chair 23

Following the overwhelming backing of the Membership to go ahead with the Planning Application, the Club will be holding a Public Consultation at the club on Tuesday 23rd February. Exact timings to be published next week.

Last Saturday saw The Blues with their first win of 2016 when they came away from South Leicester with a bonus point win to keep the 10 point cushion at the top of the table.  In a less than enthralling match, (interrupted by some questionable refereeing) The Blues did enough to score the 4 tries needed, including 1 contender for try of the season, straight from the re start, going through several pairs of hands and finished by Frankie Barker.

The boys looked a bit ring rusty and will be glad to have got this tricky away game out of the way without dropping points or collecting injuries.

This Saturday sees a return to Priory Park for the first time since the demolition of Sale on December 19th – 6 weeks ago!  The team are chomping at the bit to play in front of a home crowd for the first time this year so make sure you get down early to ensure you get a seat (and a beer!) before the 3.00 k.o.  Our old friends from Tynedale provide the opposition.

The match is preceded by the Annual Mini & Junior Section Lunch which, at time of going to press, has 75 in attendance.  A great turnout, but still time to book your place if you want to attend.  Coach Giles Heagerty will be present during lunch for a Q & A session, so if you`re going, have your rugby related question ready.

MARQUEE FOR HIRE (special rate for members!)

Between the Sportsman`s Dinner & Ladies Lunch on Friday 29th April (see below) the 300+ seated marquee will be available for private hire.

Tables, chairs, bar etc. included.  Ideal for a Wedding, 21st, 50th, Anniversary, Corporate Event, Divorce Party etc.
