AFTER THE LORD MAYOR’S SHOW
Unfortunately, last Saturdays game at Heywood Road against a very fired up Sale side, resulted in a first defeat since January 2nd for The Blues when they came out 2nd best by 12-29. The side showed 4 enforced changes from the side who comprehensively beat Chester the week before, and were also still skipper Mike Finniemore, but Coach Giles Heagerty wouldn’t make any excuses, other than the Sale boys were desperate for survival and came off the back of confidence building win at Stourbridge the week before.
It was disappointing for all concerned, and I know the Macc Lads will be desperate to put things right on Saturday when they face 4th placed Stourbridge at Priory Park in front of their home fans. Due to the rearranged match on May 14th v. Harrogate, now being a dead rubber, this will not be played, meaning this Saturday is the last chance to see The Blues before they re-emerge in National League 1 in September. Come along and cheer them on as they seek to complete the season on a high against old adversaries and opening day conquerors, Stourbridge. The visitors have advised us they will be bringing at least 1 visitors coach, so we need you there to cheer on the lads and make some noise.
Why not join us for the last pre match lunch of the season? 2 courses for the special price of £8 plus entry…the bargain of the year! As always, book with Jonathan in the office or on 01625 827899 / jonathan@maccrugby.co.uk.
AROUND THE PARK
The Lions thrashed Sale FC 76-0 at home, the 3rds won at Liverpool Collegiate to secure their place in the league, and the Fourth team plus others took Jersey by storm on their Jersey tour.
This weekend sees the Blues take on Stourbridge, The Lions are also at home with a 1.00pm kick off v. Fylde, the 3rds have no game and the 4ths finish their season at Old Bedians.
