THE BLUES v HULL IONIANS

Hull Ionians ran out winners at Priory Park last Saturday. After a scrappy first half the score was an even 5 – 5. After a stream of penalties in the second half, Matt King was sent to the sin bin, Hull took advantage and secured the bonus point on the hour. The Blues hit back with two tries but they missed out on a bonus point as the Hull fly half slotted a penalty in the last minute of the game.

The Lions won at Rochdale 65 – 10, the 3rd team lost at Sandbach and the 4th Team secured a win against Northwich 37 – 5 letting in their first points this season.

Only one result to 'round up' today, but it's a crucial 5 points for the 1st XV, who are now top of the table after Rossendale lost over at Stockport. Here Tommy Taylor (Defence Coach) gives his views on the match. The lads now head into a well-deserved break, and face Blackburn up at Ramsgreave Drive in a fortnight. Next weekend it’s all the Guinness Men's Six Nations action on the screens down at Priory Park. 🍻 🏉 tinyurl.com/MRUTV ... See MoreSee Less
