Macclesfield RUFC seek new physiotherapist

Physiotherapist looking to increase your sports experience? Macclesfield RUFC are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic, qualified Physiotherapist, Sports Therapist or Sports Rehabilitator to join the existing medical team.

The role represents an exciting opportunity to become an integral part of the existing medical team for one of the top ranked clubs in the region. The role will require excellent clinical knowledge, with a minimum of 12 months MSK experience. Previous experience of working in sport (preferably rugby) would be desirable.

As a member of the physiotherapy team, your role will be to deliver emergency medical management on the field of play for Lions games, and triaging injuries pitch side. You will also be assisting in therapy, injury prevention protocols and rehabilitation aids to the clubs’ squads alongside the club physiotherapist.

You must have excellent hands-on skills and be able to build respectful relationships with the existing club physio, as well as the playing and non-playing staff.

The role involves on field medical decisions, so confidence in your own decision making and the ability to provide clear reasoning with good communication skills are essential. You will have an active input into an injured player’s rehabilitation and return to train/play protocols, in which a strong grounding in evidence based-practice is essential.
