A convincing win for the Blues against a new look Wharfedale 41- 15

The Lions had a difficult start to the season at Sedgley Park 41 – 22

An eclectic mix of players in the 3rd team struggled against Vale of Lune at home 24 – 53

The season started a little early for the 4th team L – W

The Junior Colts started the season as they mean to go on at Caldy 0 – 20

A depleted Senior Colts team started well against Wilmslow at home but having only 11 players was always going to be an issue 21 – 32

Next Weekend


The Blues travel to Chester this Saturday brimming with confidence after a strong start to the season. Our hosts let eight tries in on Saturday against Tynedale.  Kick off 3.00pm

The Lions entertain Preston GH at Priory Park and are looking to bounce back from Saturday’s set back. Hoppers had a narrow win against Sale at the weekend. Kick off 3.00pm

The 3rd team are off to Rochdale who also lost last Saturday. Kick off 3.00pm

A fully tanned and rested 4th team welcome Oswestry to Macclesfield. Oswestry had a narrow loss against Knutsford in their first match. Kick off 3.00pm



The Junior Colts have their first home game against Chester who were thrashed at home last Sunday. Kick off 12.30pm

No game for the Senior Colts this Sunday

For the year ending 30th June 2017

In accordance with the rules of Macclesfield RUFC Ltd members are advised of, and invited to attend, this meeting which will be held in the President’s suite at the clubhouse, Priory Park, Priory Lane, Macclesfield, Cheshire SK10 4AE on Thursday 28th September 2017 at 7.30pm.


1. Apologies for absence.

2. To approve minutes of the Financial General Meeting held at the Club House on Thursday 28th September 2016.

3. Welcome by Chairman – Peter Harper.

4. To receive and approve a Financial Statement for the preceding Financial Year ending 30th June 2017 – presented by the Director of Finance, Peter White.

5. Treasurer to respond to questions raised by members – by permission of the chairman.

6. Any other business relevant to this meeting – by permission of the chairman.

Members can collect their membership cards from the office during normal working hours.

Membership Update

We wanted to provide an update regarding progress of the “full planning” application for the development of the Priory Park site (reference no 16/6237M) submitted to Cheshire East Council in December 2016. The application was registered in January 2017 with a targeted Planning Committee date of the April 2017. – read more >>


Pre-match lunches

There will always be food available prior to a Blues home league match. It may be a buffet, pie or formal two course lunch. If you wish to have a buffet or pie lunch, please be at the club before 1.30pm on match day, pay Maggie £10 for your food and pay the gate staff or Jonathan your normal entrance fee. If you want to enjoy a formal lunch, please book in plenty of time with Jonathan and ensure you have paid before the day – £15 + entry fee, please be at the club before 12.30pm.

The End of Season Awards were presented at the End of Season Ball 2024 - a fantastic evening celebrating the end of a successful season which saw the 1st XV crowned champions of Premier North and promoted to National League Rugby 2 West. Our Macclesfield Womens Rugby XV went (virtually) undefeated and will now move into their first league from the 24/25 season and the 2nd / 3rd Xv celebrated their league achievements too!
