Rugby Notes from ‘Clubman’

Following a pre match lunch with fellow rugby colleagues on a bitterly cold Saturday afternoon the fare that followed on the park was a credit to both sides in an uncompromising encounter with no quarter given as Macclesfield and Huddersfield fought for the points and it was the home side that, in the end, came out on top by a narrow margin in a game that had it all to entertain the crowd and it made it three wins on the run for a revitalised Macclesfield squad as they move away from the danger area of National Two North. Beer Festival

Mickey Jones has been organising the Macclesfield Beer Festival at the rugby club for 23 years now! An incredible feat and all the more so when you consider that the Beer Festival has grown so much over the years and has raised over £200000 for local charities. This will be a really tough act to follow! Mickey would like to make this year his last as organiser and is hoping to pass on his extensive knowledge, skills and passion to his successor. If you have as much drive and ambition as Mickey and like to give it a go, please contact him on michael@prjonesjewellers.co.uk

Colts

It may not have been on your radar but our Colts are top of the Senior B league having convincingly won all four of their matches. Our Senior Colts are made up of last season’s unbeaten U16s and Junior Colts and they are force to be reckoned with!

Please come along this Sunday as our boys take on mid-table Littleborough.

The future of Macclesfield Rugby Club play on Sundays at 2.00pm. It’s like rugby but faster!
