U12’s Season Highlight

The 2017/18 season has certainly been a phenomenal one for Macclesfield’s U12’s, culminating with their age group winning the (probably last) Cheshire Cup. Highlighting the season was their opportunity to represent Sale Sharks as the winners of the Land Rover Cup at the Aviva Premiership Final 2018. Alongside an exclusive behind the scenes look, the lads spent their morning at a live Q&A session with the winners of the 2003 World Cup Side, Lewis Moody and Jason Robinson.

Most Valued Player

Pictured below is the team on the HQ Hallowed Turf as well as Most Valued Player, young Ollie Davies. The team have certainly shown their hard work this season. They have gone from strength to strength under the wings of head coach, Rob Davies, proud parent of Ollie and the other two Davies’ well known to the club, Alex and Will. Ollie was chosen for Most Valued Player by a unanimous vote by the entire team (Just clarifying that we did not ask Dad). It truly is a well-deserved title!

Words from the Coach

In the words of a lead coach – “Ollie D does some stuff on a rugby pitch which is extraordinary.  No kid of his age that I have seen has that vision, and the ability to execute. Few kids a few years older do either. He makes the team play and is quick enough to do damage himself.”

It was a day enjoyed by the entire team. We look forward to what is to come for the U13’s in 2018/19.
