£3,000 Raised for Macclesfield Hospital

£3,000 has been raised for Macclesfield Hospital at the MRUFC ladies Lunch! All attendees joined together to raise funds for the unit which is being put towards a new ultrasound scanner. The MRUFC ladies would like to express their gratitude to everyone who took part in the day. So, to anyone who helped out, offered support and purchased raffle tickets, thank you for helping our ladies reach their goal. Special thanks to Maggie, Gerry and their teams for looking after everyone so well on the day.

October Lunch

The next lunch will be held on the 6th October. As there will be a home game, there will only be 9-10 tables available. This time we aim to somewhat vary the format and hope to have a band playing. What’s more, we hope the chaps will join us in the evening! More details about the next lunch will be revealed soon, but we are happy to announce that it will be in aid of Daisy’s Dream charity – an organisation that offers counselling and support services to bereaved children who desperately need it.

Six tables have already been reserved, so if you wish to attend, now is the time to reserve yours! Tables are first come, first served. Please bear in mind that the tables at this lunch were slightly cramped with 10 per table, but it is up to you. We are more than happy to welcome more people if you are happy to squeeze in!

Next Year

There will then be a big event for the Breast Unit again on the last home game of the season – 27th April 2019. There will be a big marquee, meaning more capacity for at least 20 tables, so start spreading the word!

Julia has volunteered to help run a new social committee for the club. If anyone would be willing to get involved, please contact Julia. She will provide you with more details in the next week or so after running ideas past the committee.

"A lot of disappointed lads in there, none more so than Chris Robshaw." "It will be really strange to turn up to training and not see him. His leadership levels, I've never seen anything like that." Danny Care reacts to the loss and Robshaw's imminent departure 😥
