Saturday saw the first award of two Blue Laces for the Mini and Junior section, with deserved winners Jack Pearson and Eva Cotton – both from the U9s section being presented by Pete Harper (MRUFC Chairman) and 1st XV Back Row Joe Palmer.
Players from the Mini and Junior section are awarded Blue Laces for demonstrating the Core Values of the game, Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship. These values enshrine the game of Rugby, and we pride ourselves ensuring our players are ambassadors of the game.
Jack and Eva were selected from a shortlist of seven players to receive their laces. Players can get up to two laces for their boots, and of course they can also lose them should their Stan cards slip (which I am sure they will not!!).
Look out for more young players receiving Blue Laces in the weeks to come.
