Macclesfield Ladies 45 – 15 Bury Ladies

On Sunday 31st March Macclesfield Ladies team put aside all thoughts of Mothers day and played their 3rd home game in the Cheshire and Greater Manchester Development Merit league at Priory Park. They were due to play Bury however due to Injuries and other factors Bury could only muster up 5 players so Macclesfield Ladies pulled some strings and arranged for Congleton Bears Ladies to make up the numbers.

A game was playable of 10-a-side, due to development they played four lots of 15 minutes with uncontested scrums and uncontested line outs. This suited both teams levels of play so far.

Macclesfield Ladies put out a strong team and got the win with a total of 13 tries from multiple players with 12 being converted by Scrum Half Bex Ward. The best try of the game being scored by their Player Coach Pip Gregory who played her last game at Priory Park for a few months as she is off to the USA with a sports coaching position.

Due to development league rules scores are capped at 30 points difference so the final score officially was 45-15 (unofficially 89-15 to Macc).
