Bowdon Colts 17 – 27 Macclesfield Colts

The Junior Colts were back in action Sunday against Bowdon RUFC. Bowdon were
riding high in the leagues and the Colts knew it would be a tough encounter
over at Clay Lane. Having not played for a few weeks due to weather
hampering the pitches, the lads were fast out of the blocks scoring in the
first two minutes. This rattled Bowdon who produced a prolonged period of
attack in our 22. The colts succumbed to two well worked tries by Bowdon,
but we managed to keep them out wide and their conversions both fell short.

A quick turnaround at half time with a slightly reshuffled backline to try
and kick behind Bowdon and some fresh legs in the back row, saw us gain
ascendancy and numerous turnovers, leading to four tries in the second half
for the Colts to Bowdon’s one. Final score 17-27 in our favour.

Sunday 10th November we host Ellesmere Port in the Second Round of the
Cheshire Cup. Kick off at 1.30pm at Priory Park, bar open, food available,
come down and enjoy the future of Macclesfield RUFC!
