COVID-19 CLUB UPDATE – 20.03.20

The RFU have suspended all rugby and related activities until 14 April 2020, and there is no indication currently as to how the final games and the league will conclude.

With a responsibility and duty of care to all our members, employees and community, the consequence of this announcement is that all of Macclesfield RUFC rugby activities from Mini – Junior up to and including Senior Rugby is suspended with immediate effect until 14 April or until further advice is received.

All activities, hospitality and events at the club house will be postponed until further guidance is received. The club will be closed during this period until further notice.

As the situation develops we will endeavor to keep you fully updated via our communication channels.  We understand that for our members this is a hugely concerning time for everyone, we ask you to stay safe, follow the latest government advice and look out for each other

As a community club, we will try to help our members wherever we can:

  • If you are feeling unwell and unsure what to do, please contact us
  • If you are self-isolating and would like to share your concerns, please contact us
  • If you are struggling to cope with basic needs and groceries, then please contact us

We look forward to seeing you all back at Priory Park before too long, but in the meantime, please look after each other and stay safe!

Macclesfield Rugby Club is 146 years old and has survived through two world wars, stock market crashes, the birth of professional rugby and many other challenges. We have achieved this by our members supporting each other during these times of need, and we call on all our members to pull together during this difficult time to ensure the future of our club.
