The Club gives a massive thank you to the 79 people who answered the call for help; together raising £27,315, in just two weeks. The funds raised, along with the personal loan to The Club of £10,000 and the other actions the Club management have been able to take, worth £22,8230, will secure the future of Our Club for the benefit of past, present and future generations of rugby players across the community.

Donations to the fund are only £2,685 short of the £30,000 target, but the fund will remain open until 5pm on Friday 10th April so if you have a little cash to spare, please donate here.

My first plea, two weeks ago, was that everyone follows the official advice and encourages others to do the same in order to save lives, slow down the infection rate and give the NHS, emergency services and key workers a chance in dealing with the crisis. That plea remains relevant as we enter the peak time in the crisis. Please follow the official advice and also Stay Safe – Stay Well.

My second plea to every member, family, relation, friend, sponsor, supporter, supplier and anyone associated with our Rugby Club was to please identify how you might be able to support The Rugby Club financially and secure its future beyond the crisis. Your response has been magnificent, and I offer my thanks on behalf of all of us who have enjoyed being part of the Macclesfield Rugby Club Family, for many years socially and as players; and also on behalf of all those young rugby players across all age groups, and their families, who are on their own rugby journeys through the Club and beyond. Long may it continue

We are still hoping that the season will start again in September and that our commercial operations will also be able to kick-off at around that time. Our financial forecast remains to establish ‘business as usual’with subscriptions being paid from July to 6th September, a little earlier than usual, to help our cash position at that time. Please look out for more information on membership and payments – for next season, and, watch out for the social calendar.

Thank you All.
