In July each year the club usually opens Membership for the new season so that you can purchase your subscription and other associated items, such as season tickets.
This year, with the disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and the continuing uncertainty about the date when 1st XV league fixtures, senior rugby and Mini & Junior rugby will be able to begin the Executive Committee has decided to delay launching the membership for the new season until 1st September 2020. By then we believe that there will be more clarity on the start of the new season across all age grades and on any ‘adaptive changes’ that the Club needs to implement.
At present the club is following the RFU guidelines and roadmap for the return to Rugby. We are currently at phase two of seven phases along the way with the final phase being a return to matchplay. The RFU has also identified three possible start dates for the season, the first, and most optimistic being 10th October 2020 with further dates in November and January 2021. We are hopeful that it may be possible to achieve the first window of 10th October, but it is currently too soon to say.
Please keep an eye on the website for further details and, please, when subs become due, pay as soon as you are able. The Rugby Club’s finances remain very stretched and we need the revenue.
