Macclesfield Town Football Club and Macclesfield Rugby Union Football Club, were founded in 1874 as the same club, playing both rugby and soccer; naturally we are deeply disappointed to see Macclesfield Town FC wound-up. Thankfully the love of sport is greater than that of a business’s balance sheet. We sincerely hope that a soccer club representing Macclesfield, in the leagues, can be reinstated as soon as possible, and we offer our support in any way that we can give it.
