Exciting New Development – FITISM Gym

You are all aware that with a new Committee at Macclesfield Rugby since the AGM in May, we are working on a 5 year plan which will create a sustainable Rugby Club that can offer multi sports at the heart of the community. There are several stages to the plan, this is the first of many improvements to the club for the benefit of everyone.

We are exploring several off field activities that will enhance the club facilities, offer additional sports and create a financially sustainable operation.

As part of plans to improve the facilities at the Club we are pleased to announce (subject to planning) that we are teaming up with local business FITISM to provide a brand new group fitness, nutrition and rehabilitation facility at priory park.

FITISM successfully operates in two other locations in the Cheshire area offering first class strength and conditioning coaching as well as providing nutrition and lifestyle coaching.

Their primary aim is to provide a welcoming and friendly training space to engage all individuals, whether they be nervous first time gym goers or seasoned athletes.

The facility will be accessible on a membership and pay as you go basis with discounts available for members of the rugby club. In addition, as part of a joint effort to help drive our club forward FITISM will provide their facilities, at no cost to the club, to support the strength and conditioning of our senior teams and also provide a space for the club physiotherapists to rehabilitate any injured players.

You can find out more about FITISM by visiting their website www.fitism.co.uk

We have attached a few photos to give you an idea of what FITISM is about as well a mock up of what the facility will likely look like at Priory Park.

We, as a committee, are extremely excited about this and hope that our wider membership agrees it is a fantastic opportunity to not only enhance the offering of facilities at the club but also to support the club financially with our rugby ambitions.

A Planning application has been submitted and any support that can be provided will help the application be successful, the gym will be located within the club ground and have no impact on the facilities that you all enjoy, only enhance them.
