Well, for the game to go ahead, it is all in the laps of Jack Frost and Rachel Rainalot making an early appearance. Kendal’s Mark Hodgkiss has a smidgen of hope in his preview – but at the moment it’s one for the optimists and in the lap of the Gods.
After a tough time at Marl Pits last week, the Kendal boys will not be relishing another trip South, to face the co leaders again, but then no one picks up points at Rossendale (yet!). Kendal’s results this season have been pretty steady, except for a beating-up, by Blackburn at home, but they will have been given some optimism from Wirral’s win against the Lancastrians on Saturday. That said; turning over Macclesfield at the moment would need a very special performance and a collapse in Macclesfield’s form, which is unlikely. Simeon Meek, Rhys Davies and Terence Babarinsa have minor injuries, and John O’Donnell and Brendan Berry are unavailable. Otherwise it’s a case of shuffling the deck with starters and finishes. Toby Moule, who has been champing at the bit, gets another start at 11, as does Tom Jennings at 15; Kendal also make five changes to their team from last week.
