This Sunday the Women’s team travel’s to Ashbourne for their final away game of the season. Ashbourne is a relatively new side who have already recruited over 30 players this season. The sides first met in the recent touch-rugby tournament held at Priory Park, with both teams winning convincingly. However Ashbourne will be a new challenge in the 15 a-side game. The Macclesfield team have prepared well over the last two weeks and are virtually at full strength; although Jazz Wilson will be missed at Centre as she will be playing for Warrington Wolves over the weekend.
The Women will then take centre stage at Priory Park, after the 6th April as they will be the only senior side playing at home, after the seniors men’s sides conclude their home fixtures. With three fixtures in April it will be a wonderful way to celebrate the success of the Women’s squad this season, as they progress into the national leagues in September.
