Women’s XV v Sheffield RUFC Preview

After the fun of last weekend’s touch rugby festival, with both Macclesfield teams winning their respective finals, the Women’s XV welcome Sheffield RUFC to Priory Park. The coaches are hoping that the handling skills and support lines that were evident at the weekend will transfer across into the traditional format of the game. This is the first meeting of the sides, so the home team will need to adapt to the unknown challenge that Sheffield will bring.

Macclesfield have a strong squad of 23 players available this week with Emma Lawton and Alyessa Harrison looking to make their debuts from the bench. Chole Newbigging is away skiing, so Sophie Barnett- Hubbard moves into the centre. Annie James, after her debut for Sheffield Hallam, moves to fullback, whilst Tiegan Shaw returns to number eight after recovering from injury.

KO off is at 3.00pm on the small back pitch, as the main pitch is being rested, so grab a drink and a pie and  support the Women’s XV as they  aim to continue their unbeaten home run!
