Macclesfield Women Take Centre Stage at Priory Park

This Sunday the women’s side take centre stage  at Priory Park for the rest of the season. The women will be the only senior side playing at home for the remainder of the season with the men’s sides concluding their home fixtures this Saturday. With three fixtures in April, it will be a great way to celebrate the success of the women’s xv as they progress into the national leagues next year. At present it has not been confirmed which NC 3 League the team will be entering, but the squad are already excited about the challenge that next season brings.

After a convincing win over Ashbourne in their last outing, with over a hundred supporters watching. The first visitors to Priory Park will be an amalgamation of Ormskirk and Stoke. With it being the Easter break finding opposition has proved to be difficult so its great to see two sides combining to give their players the opportunity to gain some valuable game time.

The following Sunday, Ashbourne travel over for a return fixture and then on Friday 19th Stockport Scarlets, who currently are  3rd in the national  league above Macclesfield travel over to Priory Park for what could be the biggest challenge the team have faced this season.

April concludes with an Inner Warrior Festival on Sunday 28th April.  The team have loved the support that has come from the stands when they have played at home this season and hope that continues through April.  So, if you still need your rugby fix grab a pie and drink and support your women’s team.
