3 North (South) league.
Last Sunday the side were due to meet Stafford in round 1 of the Papa Johns Cup, however Stafford were unable to field a team and so Macclesfield progressed into round 2. Bury found themselves in the same position and stepped in, so that both sides could gain valuable game time. Bury came out winners 29 -19, in a thrilling encounter watched by a large vocal home crowd.
This Saturday the team return to league action welcoming Glossop to Priory Park. The teams last met in two friendly fixtures in 2022 with Macclesfield winning on both occasions. Team selection will be challenging this week as the coaches wait on the fitness and availability of several players after Sunday’s encounter.
So if you’re not travelling to Luctonians to support the first XV pop down to the club, grab a drink and a pie and support the team, Kick-off is at 3.00 pm.
