The boys in blue will pile onto the bus on Saturday morning, along with a few Alickadoos, for the rematch with Cinderford in Gloucestershire. The last time out, it was a case of “the one that got away”. It was a home match, that probably had a ‘W’ marked against it on the Coach’s prediction pages – should there be such a thing; but it wasn’t to be. Although Macc had scored first and had been ahead for a lot of the game, the boys could not get over the finishing line.
Macc were forced to play the second half without a recognised number 10, and into a howling gale. Injuries to Dan Leake and Ollie Davies had put Macc on the back foot against the elements. Ollie Davies, on debut for the Blues, was injured shortly after coming on; thankfully he has recovered well and played for Sale Sharks last week in their win over Caldy in the Premiership Cup. Macclesfield are now blessed with two number 10s, Tom Farrell, and the return to the Club of Will Davies.
Saturday will be another big challenge for the boys in blue, Cinderford are, without doubt, on form, and now sit in 3rd spot. Macclesfield’s injury list is still troubling, which is keeping, Director of Rugby, Matt Coleridge on his toes:
