It has been four years since visiting Lightfoot Green, which was a bad day at the office for the boys in blue, playing most of the game with 14 men on the field. We were bullied up-front back then, and whilst Hoppers still has a very strong pack, the Macc pack is also very competitive with players vying for a start.

Tom Morton had this to say about Saturday’s challenge: “The boys had a good loosener on Tuesday and trained really well tonight. There are a few changes in the starting line-up. James Milan had a good debut at 9 last week and keeps the shirt, Charlie Attis gets his first start at 10, Sam Adu returns and starts on the wing, and Ollie Longmore is back and will be one of the finishers. Preston are always very physical, and will do the basics well; and they now also have good half-backs, and pace out wide. It will be a big change in playing surfaces from a wet Priory Park to Hoppers’ 4G surface, but the boys are more than ready for the challenge.”
