It is with deep sadness that the Macclesfield RUFC community announces the passing of Rick Stockwell, a passionate coach for the Under 15 boys’ rugby team and a dedicated member of the Mini and Youth committee.
Rick was a true pillar of the U15s Macclesfield RUFC, making that transition from parent on the touchline to an enthusiastic positive coach who gave unwavering support for every player he coached. He taught his players the importance of sportsmanship, resilience, and the joy of playing the game, regardless of the outcome.
Never one to just stand back, Rick’s dedication extended beyond the pitch, as he also contributed significantly to the Mini & Juniors operations, including managing facilities and kit requirements to ensure “rugby as planned” for all age groups.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, players, fellow coaches, and the entire Macclesfield RUFC community. Our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to Charlotte, Harriet and Seb and all his loved ones and friends during this incredibly difficult time
