Exciting times as the team travel to the Isle of Man for the first time!
This Friday, Macclesfield WXV travel to the Isle of Man to play Vagabonds, the team are in a good run of form, having only lost once since in 2026 when they were beaten by league leaders Sale Bees. Vagabonds have a good home record , and it will be a tough match. When Macclesfield hosted Vagabonds in December, it was an entertaining game with both sides looking to play at a fast pace, with Macclesfield coming out on top.
Captain Mel Bramley commented on the upcoming fixture, “After such a successful season, it is a real highlight to be taking a full squad and over 20 supporters to the Isle of Man. After a close home fixture, we look forward to the away game with confidence. With a second position in the league a possibility, we are determined to end the season on a high, while taking this opportunity to bond as a group. We are lucky to have been supported by some amazing sponsors this season who have made this trip possible, and we thank them for their continued support”
Echoing the captain’s comments, team manager Liz Jarratt added, “When we gained promotion to NC2, we knew instantly that one of the season highlights would be our away fixture against the Vagabonds. With a travelling team & support squad of 44 people, it’s going to be a truly memorable fixture. We’d like to thank all our amazing supporters for helping us get to Douglas, and we are hoping we can replicate our home match and bring the victory home!” With only two games left this season, a win would likely see the women’s XV finish second in NC2, a remarkable achievement for a group that has only been together for a few seasons.

Captain Mel Bramley clears against Vagabonds in corresponding fixture.
