I’m delighted to share some fantastic news: our planning application has now been formally submitted to Cheshire East Council. This marks a huge step forward in our redevelopment journey — a process that has taken over two years, hundreds of hours of work, and more than a little blood, sweat, and occasionally tears.
Attached are the proposed site plan and clubhouse plans. These may evolve as we progress through the planning process, but they provide a clear picture of the ambition behind this project.
At the appropriate stage, we will need letters of support from members, volunteers, partners, and the wider community. I will let you all know when the consultation window opens and how you can help.
What This Development Will Deliver
- Secure the club’s financial future for the next 20 years, ensuring long‑term sustainability.
- Create a new 4G playing surface, usable for approximately 60 hours per week, developed in partnership with the Football Foundation and Cheshire FA.
- Expand and modernise the clubhouse, including upgraded changing rooms, plumbing, catering facilities, and a dedicated events area.
- Establish a purpose‑built outside events space suitable for the beer festival, community festivals, and large‑scale gatherings.
- Revitalise the bottom pitches, bringing them back into use for football.
- Introduce new sports, including lacrosse and football, who will be based at the club.
- Provide improved access for local clubs and schools, strengthening our role as a community hub.
- Increase car‑parking capacity to support larger events and multi‑sport usage.
- Construct new grounds sheds and invest in modern maintenance equipment.
- Ensure no net loss of playing areas for rugby, protecting the sport at the heart of our club.

A Huge Thank You
This milestone would not have been possible without the dedication of our volunteers. A special thank you to Bob Cooke, Alex Wilson, and Tim Broster, along with many others who have given countless hours to get us to this point. Your commitment to our club and the community is deeply appreciated.
