Post-16 Centre of Excellence Programme
July 1st
September
The ultimate opportunity to elevate your rugby game while securing a full-time education.
Are you looking to take your rugby skills to the next level without putting your education on hold? Join us at the Macclesfield Rugby Club Post-16 Centre of Excellence. This comprehensive programme offers the perfect balance for ambitious individuals. We provide a professional training environment designed to help you unlock your full potential on the pitch and in the classroom.
What to Expect
When you join the Centre of Excellence, you step into a professional sporting environment. You will receive an Individual Player Development Plan to guide your progress. We use advanced player analysis software, including GPS tracking systems, heart rate monitors, and timing gates, to give you the exact data you need to improve.
Under the guidance of highly qualified and experienced professional staff, you will benefit from up to 12 hours per week of dedicated rugby training and match play. You will also get the chance to test your skills at the highest levels by competing in national leagues, prestigious cups, and international tournaments.
We host all of this within our excellent club facilities, creating a clear pathway and incredible opportunities to progress into professional or semi-professional rugby.
Your Education
We take your academic future just as seriously as your athletic growth. Alongside your rugby development, you will complete a full-time qualification in sport. We offer several academic pathways to suit your needs:
- NCFE Level 2 in Sport
- BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Sport
- BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport
Your education programme also includes individual and group tutorials, 30 hours per year of valuable sports work experience, and dedicated support for Maths and/or English if you need to achieve your GCSE Grade 4.
