It’s a first league derby as the women’s team host Stockport Scarlets on Sunday at 3.00 pm. Last year in Mary Thorps last game for Macclesfield the home side prevailed in a nail-biting encounter 20- 17. Prior to that fixture, Scarlets had won all the previous meetings. Scarlets come into the game off the back of four wins with the latest being a 10 -12 win over Glossop and are currently fourth in the league.
The home side are unbeaten in 2025 so it will be a battle of two in-form sides at Priory Park. Macclesfield will be fielding some new combinations as the coaches continue to rotate and give more game time to new players in the squad. Mandy Rosser commented on the upcoming match “Stockport is always a tough game and a good local derby, the team are really looking forward to a great game of rugby and to continue our success from the season.”
